Neil nitin on Tere mere beech mein

The actor speaks about this and more in the talk show Tere Mere Beach Mein, hosted by choreographer-director Farah Khan, in an episode that covers the theme of ‘Freedom’. Neil and Abhay Deol, the other celebrity guest, talk about living within the rules laid down by their families and taking career decisions that got them flak.

About his decision, Neil – who hates interference – says, “My dad did not speak to me for six months because I signed Johnny Gaddar. He was so mad at me that he wouldn’t even speak to me during our meals. He told me, ‘You’re Mukesh’s grandchild and we’re known for our goodness, so how could you sign up for a negative role?’ I explained that it was necessary for people to recognise my acting abilities, that’s why.” He adds, “I wonder if any son has got such a wonderful gift from his father like I did. Dad later said that he respects me and is proud that I did the film.”

When Farah asks if he ever wanted to follow the family tradition of becoming a singer, and he replies, “Each individual has different interests. I can sing.” The handsome actor then regales the audience with his rendition of his grandfather’s song, ‘Ek din beet jayega maati ke mol’.

Watch the two young charismatic actors on Tere Mere Beach Mein, this Saturday at 9 pm on Star Plus.

Karan Mehra, who we love as the good-looking Ganesiya in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, has been busy with an English play called called Da Dating Truth

Directed by Priya Arya, the romantic musical has Karan plays five different characters, similar to Priyanka Chopra’s attempt in What’s Your Rashee?

The actor tells us, ““I haven’t yet seen What’s Your Rashee? but I am hoping that the two are different. The play is quite interesting as I am portraying played five different characters for the first time – Ajay, Vipul, Karan, Gopi and Praddy. Each character was difficult to play; one is a banker, another is a psychopath, and so on. The female lead is Jenny, played by Vaibhavi, who is on a journey to find her Mr Right.” Sound familiar?

The play also features Shekhar Suman as God and Remix actress Priya Wal. Da Dating Truth premieres on October 13 in Mumbai.

Who has the hottest body on television?

Following the current trend of working out religiously for the perfect body and chiseled abs, TV stars can easily compete with their Bollywood counterparts when it comes to being fabulously fit. And to prove this, we picked out six tele stars who we think have really hot bodies.

Akashdeep Saigal

Akashdeep Saigal: Though the actor has no project in hand as of now, he gets our vote for the best body on television. If you doubt it, just look that his perfect biceps, abs and chest. However, recently we weren’t too pleased on seeing him sport a leaner look.

Hussain

Hussain is a fitness freak. He works out almost everyday and maintains his diet religiously. And he doesn’t have just a great body but a handsome face and talent to boot. And though he sports a six pack, it’ll be quite hard to catch the modest actor showing it off.

Karan Singh Grover

Karan Singh Grover: His best feature is definitely his abs, which is one of the reasons girls go crazy over him. Proud of his physique, Karan usually dresses to show off his body. And if that’s not enough, he also sports a big tattoo on his arm to attract more attention from the ladies.

Shabbir Ahluwalia

Shabbir Ahluwalia: His body may not be bulky but there’s no denying that Shabbir is a hunk. Indian clothes especially pathani and kurtas suits his look and he has the height to carry them off. His lean frame, unkempt stubble and long hair make him ruggedly handsome

Aamir Ali

Aamir Ali is always telling everyone how much he likes to work out and maintain his toned physique. Though he is a foodie, he tries to follow his diet regularly. His best feature is his biceps that make even those casual tee shirts of his look sexy.

Arjun Bijlani

Arjun Bijlani: His simple image and his well built body make him look like the perfect man onscreen. We have already seen him performing stunts in his earlier show Left Right Left, where he played cadet, so we know that this handsome hunk can put his muscles to good use.

Amit Tandon

Amit Tandon: Though he is a singer, he is also keenly interested in maintaining his body. He is a great fan of Salman Khan and his bulging muscles prove this. He has tattoos on his biceps which add to his beefed up look.

Shaleen and Daljeet to marry in December

TV actors Shaleen Bhanot and Daljit Kaur are getting ready for their Punjabi-style wedding, which will take place this December in Jabalpur.

Bride-to-be Daljit Kaur tells us, “Yes, it’s true that we’re both finally getting married. This is the most memorable event of my life which I will never forget. I don’t want to disclose the wedding date but I can tell you that it’ll take place in the first half of December. It is going to be grand with an engagement, sangeet and mehndi. We are excited and nervous.”

The wedding will take place in Jabalpur as it is a central location for both of them. “Most of my relatives are from Punjab and his too live in Jabalpur and nearby. We had earlier thought of marrying in Pune but changed the venue after much discussion.”

Daljit adds, “I will be leaving for Pune on October 8 because it’s my official maayka and I want to invite my friends and prepare for the wedding. My designer Bhavna has already started working on my wedding outfit, which I want to be traditional with a modern touch; she is roaming all over India to get it right. Her boutique is in Juhu and she has also designed outfits in films like Gadar – Ek Prem Katha and Legend of Bhagat Singh.”

The actress plans to continue working after marriage. “His parents have no objection to serials but my shooting timings needs to be adjusted because after marriage your priorities change. I want to become the perfect bride in Shaleen’s family, and I am happy that I have such good in-laws and a good life partner.

The couple hasn’t decided on the honeymoon spot yet. “There are lots of places so we just have to choose one. I don’t want Shaleen to extend his leave from shooting so we may go a month after our wedding. I would love to go to a cold place.”

Hrithik and Kangana on Farah’s show

Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut were on Farah Khan’s chat show, Tere Mere Beach Main, where both actors talked about their struggles before finding a spot in Bollywood.

The star son had a stammering problem at age six, and said, ‘I faced a lot of teasing and had embarrassing moments. The first thing is that you have to accept the fact that you have the problem.’ Hrithik then started practising words, which he still does every day for at least an hour. He said that he may skip a workout but he never misses his speech exercises.

The actor also had severe back problems when he was 21. ‘The doctors told me that I could become an actor and I gave up everything. As an actor, you have to do stunts and dance too which is impossible if your back is not okay.’ Hrithik went into depression for a year. One day, however, he decided to start running and gradually his back became better. The actor believes thinks that if he had not faced any problems in his life, he would never have become an actor.

The second part of the show featured Kangana. The actress’s family appeared on TV for the first time and spoken about their daughter. Kangana too talked about her struggler days and how people often asked her to change her look and undergo surgery, which she never did. ‘When I was modelling people with accents often got more work than me, and I used to be surprised at that. But I never gave up,’ she said. Kangana also admitted that she does not have too many friends in the industry because of her nature.

Tere Mere Beach Main starts on August 23, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm on Star Plus. Each episode will have a combination of two very different stars who will chat with Farah Khan.
